Tonight we got to talk to Julia Michaels on #MostRequestedLive! Check out some of the highlights and listen to the full interview with Romeo below to hear all about "Issues" & more!
On which artist she had the most fun working with in the studio:
"I don't think I have a 'most fun' -- they're all very unique experiences in their own way, they're always fun!"
On which shows she's currently binge watching:
"I don't watch a lot of television shows, just because my attention span is so bad. But, I did just finish watching 'The OA' -- and it was amazing. I cried so many times, it was amazing.
On transitioning from a writer to a pop star:
"Oooh good question. It's been different, for sure. I'm used to waking up to a routine, and being in the studio from 12-8, and calling it a day. It's crazy. I have people that tweet me, and they're like, 'I love you, this song means so much to me, and it's changed my life,' and I'm like, 'Wow, thank you, because that's exactly what I want.' I want to be able to touch people in that way, and that makes me feel really good -- the support of everybody has been so special."
On whether her wardrobe has changed:
"No. I showed up today in a long black jacket... this is pretty much what I work in: black slacks and a black jacket.
On how she decided to make "Issues" her debut single:
"I have been writing songs for people for a very long time. When I wrote this song, it felt so much like myself, that I felt uncomfortable with the idea of somebody else singing my story, and I just thought, 'This is it. It's time.'"
On which app she's addicted to:
"Oooh that's a good one. Honestly, unfortunately I'm gonna have to say Instagram. I'm on that thing night and day. I wake up and I check it... it's a problem."
