Benny Blanco sat down for an interview with Maxwell on #MostRequestedLive!
On whether he was surprised by the success of "Eastside":
"I was with Halsey yesterday, because we were working on her new album, and I was sitting there, and I was like 'Yo, I'd love to be able to tell you that I told you so,' - and the whole time I was telling her 'You have no idea, this sh**'s gonna be so big,' and I was telling Khalid the same thing. And then, when it actually was, I was like 'Oh my god!' I thought it was just gonna be a stepping stone. I just thought it was gonna take me a lot longer. I thought I would have to put out 4 or 5 songs and then put out another album and then people would be like, 'Oh, I get it,' but it's crazy how it took off. I don't know man, I'm just thankful."
On the motto he lives by:
"I read a quote one time, and it's always come with me: 'Be yourself, 'cause everyone else is taken.'"
On a place he'd love to visit:
"I hate flying so much that I can't go places sometimes... One of my places that I wanna go more than anywhere is Japan. I wanna go to Japan so f***ing bad."
